R&T AUCTIONS - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Welcome to R&T Auctions! By using our website (auctions.rtauctions.ca and rtauctions.ca), you confirm that you have read and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions. This agreement is between R&T Auctions / rtauctions.ca ("we," "us," or "our") and you ("you," "bidder," or "purchaser"). These terms may be updated periodically, so we encourage you to review them regularly.
GENERAL INFORMATION
PAYMENT DUE:
- Sunday Auctions: Payment is due no later than 4:30 PM on the immediate Friday following the auction.
- Thursday or Friday Auctions: Payment is due no later than 4:30 PM on the immediate Tuesday following the auction.
Late payments may result in invoice cancellation and suspension of your bidding privileges.
Invoices can be found at the top of your bidding screen under the "Invoices" tab. You can check if your invoice is marked paid and view past purchases.
PAYMENT METHODS:
- E-Transfer: Send to tracy@rtauctions.ca (Canadian clients only)
- In Person: Pay with debit, credit card, or cash
- Online: Pay directly from your invoice email (3% credit card processing fee applies)
Avoid the 3% fee by using debit, Interac e-Transfer, wire transfer, or cash.
PICKUP TIME & DEADLINE
Pickup starts no earlier than 12:00 PM (noon) the day after the auction closes.
Pickup Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Sunday Auctions:
- Auction closes: Sunday evening
- Pickup starts: Monday at 12:00 PM
- Pickup deadline: By 5:00 PM on the immediate Saturday
Thursday/Friday Auctions:
- Auction closes: Thursday/Friday evening
- Pickup starts: Next day at 12:00 PM
- Pickup deadline: By 5:00 PM on the second Saturday (9 days)
Unclaimed items become the property of R&T Auctions by 5:00 PM the following Sunday without refund or notice unless arrangements have been agreed upon in advance.
SHIPPING
- We ship worldwide via Canada Post.
- Shipping is available after full payment of the original invoice.
- Shipping fees are billed separately and include handling charges.
- $10 for the first lot
- $2 for each additional lot
- Coins and stamps: $1 per additional lot
We take care when packaging fragile items but cannot accept responsibility for breakage during shipping.
REGISTRATION & IDENTIFICATION
- Credit card registration is not currently required to bid.
- Identity verification is required for all bidders. Without proper verification, invoices will not be issued and the account may be canceled.
- All bidders must be 18 years or older.
- R&T Auctions reserves the right to deny or remove bidding rights at any time.
PRIVACY POLICY
We respect your privacy and will never sell your information. Information is collected only for necessary functions such as:
- Verifying your identity
- Contacting you about bids, payments, shipping
You may unsubscribe from newsletters at any time, but we may still contact you regarding auction-related matters.
BUYER'S PREMIUM, SURCHARGES & TAXES
- A 17% buyer's premium is added to all invoices
- A 3% surcharge applies to credit card payments
- Sales tax is applied in accordance with Ontario and Canadian law
TERMS OF PAYMENT
We accept:
- Cash
- Interac Debit
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
- Wire Transfer
- Interac E-Transfer (Canada only)
- Certified cheques/drafts
We do not accept credit card information by phone or email.
BUYER RESPONSIBILITIES
Buyers must:
- Confirm order accuracy before leaving the premises
- Ensure proper pickup of all won items
R&T Auctions is not responsible for any missing or incorrect items once they have been picked up.
ITEM CONDITIONS & ONLINE CATALOG
- All items are sold "as is, where is"
- We do our best to provide accurate descriptions and photographs, but cannot guarantee condition
- In-person previews are available by lot number during business hours
- No refunds or returns once items are removed from the premises
PERSONAL & PROPERTY RISK
Bidders agree to hold R&T Auctions and its consignors harmless from any and all claims or liabilities arising from auction participation.
CATALOG ERRORS & OMISSIONS
Descriptions and images are intended as opinion only. Bidders must perform their own due diligence. No bid retractions are permitted.
ONLINE BIDDING
We strive to provide a reliable online experience, but we are not liable for technical errors, lost connections, or bid failures.
SOFT CLOSE
Each item ends with a soft close to prevent last-second bidding. If a bid is placed within the final 3 minutes, the timer extends by 3 minutes until no further bids are received.
AUCTION RECORDS
Our records are final in all disputes. Photographs may show additional items that are not included unless specified.
CHANGES TO TERMS
We reserve the right to update or change these Terms and Conditions at any time.
EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVAL
To unsubscribe from newsletters or request removal from our email list, use the link provided in our emails or contact us directly.
