R&T Auctions Registration Terms & Conditions

Welcome to R&T Auctions! By engaging with our website (www.rtauctions.ca), you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agreed to the following Terms and Conditions. Please note that these terms may be subject to occasional updates or modifications. This document constitutes a binding agreement between R&T Auctions / rtauctions.ca ("we," "us," etc.) and yourself ("you," "bidder," "purchaser").

Privacy Policy

At R&T Auctions, we prioritize your privacy. Your information will never be sold, and we only request necessary details. While you can opt out of our newsletters, we reserve the right to contact you regarding bids, auction winnings, payments, or shipping. We collect personal information through secure channels for verification and record-keeping purposes. Bidders must have their information verified prior to invoices being sent.

Registration & Identification

Credit card registration is currently not mandatory for bidding. However, at the time of main bidder registration, we verify your identity. While credit card information may be provided, it will only be authorized for $1 and not charged. All bidders must be of legal age, and we retain the right to refuse or remove bidding rights at any time. If bidder does not have proper verification of identity no invoices will be sent and will automatically be canceled on that account.

Buyers Premium, Surcharges, and Taxes

A 17% buyer's premium applies to all invoices, with an additional 3% surcharge for credit card payments. Further charges may apply for items held or abandoned. Applicable sales tax will be included in accordance with the law.

Payment Deadline

Credit cards on file will be charged following the auction, unless you deselect the "charge my card" option during registration. Payment for auction winnings must be completed by Friday 4:30 pm ET of the auction week. Failure to pay may result in relisting of items.

Terms of Payment

We accept various payment methods, including cash, Interac Debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover cards, wire transfer, Interac E-Transfer, and certified cheques/drafts. Credit card transactions cannot be conducted over the phone or email.

Buyers' Responsibility

It is solely the buyer's responsibility to ensure the accuracy and completeness of their orders before leaving the premises during pick-up. R&T Auctions will not be held accountable for missing or incorrect items post-pick-up.

Conditions of Items Sold & Online Catalog

While we strive for accuracy in item descriptions and photographs, all items are sold on an 'as is, where is' basis. We encourage bidders to inspect items personally during business hours. Preview of any item is available by lot# during regular business hours. No claims will be entertained after goods are removed from the premises.

Personal & Property Risk

Buyers agree to indemnify and hold R&T Auctions and their sellers/consignors harmless from any claims or liabilities resulting from auction-related activities.

Additions, Edits & Deletions

We reserve the right to modify auction listings at any point.

Auction Records

In case of disputes, our records will be considered final. Illustrative photographs may contain additional items not included in the sale.

Online Bidding

While we strive for a reliable online bidding experience, technical issues may occur. We are not liable for any connectivity problems or bid failures.

Soft Close

To prevent last-minute bidding ('sniping'), bids made in the final 3 minutes will extend the auction time for 3 minutes until bidding ceases.

Catalog Errors & Omissions

Descriptions and photographs serve as opinions, not guarantees. Buyers are encouraged to conduct their own research and inspection. Bids cannot be retracted.

Shipping

We offer worldwide shipping via Canada Post. Buyers must pay for auction winnings and confirm shipping needs before we dispatch items. Shipping fees are invoiced separately and include handling charges. $10 first lot fee and $2 additional for each lot thereafter. Reduced to $1 for any coin or stamp lot.

While we take utmost care in packaging fragile items, we regret to inform you that breakage during transit is beyond our control. Although we strive to ensure proper packaging, we cannot accept responsibility for any breakage that may occur during shipment.
